| The lowered floor minivan
conversion is designed to be versatile so that the majority of
individuals with most disabilities can use this van. The passenger
or driver can ride in their wheelchair and have the appropriate
vision height as well as adequate headroom for those who transfer
from their wheelchair to the Original Equipment Manufacturer
(OEM) seats. This is done by lowering the floor approximately
10" in the passenger, driver and midship area. The vans
front OEM seats are placed on 10" high, quick-release pedestals
so the seats can come out quickly for wheelchair access. Some
lowered floor conversions offer front seats that can be interchangeable
between the driver and passenger positions, allowing the individual
to change from side to side during a long trip. Four point manual
wheelchair securements and remote entry are included. Ramp and
slider door are activated by single touch switches positioned
on the dash & rear panel by slider door and magnetic entry
in passenger side tail lamp*. The most commonly used mini vans are Daimler Chrysler Corporations Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Toyota's Sienna, Honda Odyssey, GM's Chevrolet Venture & Pontiac Montana.
