Monarch Mark One
A mounts under the steering column. The brake is applied by pushing
the operating handle directly towards the brake pedal. The accelerator
is activated by moving the operating handle toward the driver
seat. At a right angle to the brake movement. These movements
are the least fatiguing. The brake and accelerator can be used
separately or simultaneously. All hand controls and accessories
can be used for either right or left hand activation.
User Requirements:
Paraplegic, some
quadriplegics or impaired use of both feet or leg strength and
control.
Vehicle Requirements:
Most all vehicles
that have automatic transmissions, power steering and power brakes.
Advantages:
Accelerator pedal
moves freely without the movement of the hand control when driven
by able bodied drivers.
Can be transferred
easily to another vehicle.
Limitations:
Must have automatic
transmission, power brakes and power steering.
